What is Butterfly Clicking?

Butterfly clicking involves using two fingers (usually the index and middle finger) to hit the mouse button in an alternating rhythm. This effectively doubles the number of inputs you can send compared to single-finger clicking, allowing players to reach 15-25 CPS.

Technique Guide

  • Positioning: Place both fingers on the Left Mouse Button (LMB). Lift one while the other strikes.
  • Rhythm: Think of it like a drum roll. Left-Right-Left-Right.
  • Double Clicking: The secret to "god-mode" speeds (20+ CPS) is using a mouse that registers a "bounce" or double click on every hit.

Best Mice for Butterfly

  • Glorious Model O: The industry standard. Wide buttons and adjustable debounce time.
  • Razer Viper Mini: Good shape, but optical switches prevent double-clicking (capped at ~12-14 CPS).
  • Logitech G Pro: Harder to butterfly due to narrower buttons and heavier tension.

Why use Butterfly Clicking in Geometry Dash?

Unlike Minecraft PVP where pure speed matters, Geometry Dash requires consistency. Butterfly clicking is excellent for Endurance Spam (long wave sections) because it splits the workload between two fingers. This drastically reduces fatigue, allowing you to maintain 10-12 CPS for minutes at a time without your hand locking up.

Is it Cheating?

In Geometry Dash, Butterfly Clicking is legally considered legitimate input. However, using software to lower debounce time artificially to 0ms is a grey area on some Demon Lists.

Health Check

Butterfly clicking is safer than Jitter clicking for your tendons, but can still cause carpal tunnel if your wrist posture is poor.
